About Us

Welcome to Captain Ron’s and to Buccaneer Bay!

We are so glad that you are here. Please look around, enjoy the surroundings, lay out on the beach, take a stroll along Treasure Pass, or just hang out with your friends at the Tiki Bar. Whatever you decide to do, have a great time!

Captain Ron’s opened its doors in November of 2006. This buried treasure was an old, 1960’s mobile home park in much need of some tender loving care. After a year of patching and fixing, we decided to just tear it down and start all over. After three months of construction the new Captain Ron’s set sail.

During the summer of 2008, we went to work on the rest of the property. We added 300 feet of lakefront, making 700 feet in total. Three more rental homes were remodeled, making 7 all together. We completed Treasure Pass which makes for an easy stroll to all of the rentals. We added our second beach, Cannonball Beach, two new tiki bars, both of which came from Shooters, and a second beach volleyball court.

The biggest event at the Lake of the Ozarks, The Shootout, found a new home at Captain Ron’s in August of 2008 and it has brought a renewed energy to the event. The 22nd Anniversary in 2010 saw record attendance as over 80,000 people showed up by land and sea to witness 110 different racers set dozens of course records, including Dave Scott’s blistering 208 mph.

In 2011, we are excited to be not only hosting the Shootout for the forth year, but also some other great events such as the Crappie Masters State Tournament in April, the World’s Largest Pontoon Party in June, the Bikefest, the Marine Dealers Fall in the water Boat Clearance Show and the 2 Dam Days Paddle Race in September. The 100 days of summer will be in full force again this year with activities every day from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Also, in 2011, we are proud to announce the opening of two new adventures; the Mermaid Café located on Cannonball Beach and our own Pirate Ship, the Gypsy Rose. Let our very own Pirates entertain you all summer long, not only on the Gypsy Rose, but also they will have scheduled times in the Restaurant.

Make sure and visit our new location for Cannon Smoked Saloon in Laurie on “O” Road, located at the Indian Rock Golf Course. We were sad to see the old Hickory Pit burn to the ground, but very happy to continue serving our great Bar-B-Que at the new location. If its Mexican cuisine your looking for, take a ride to El Capitan Mexican Grill. El Capitan is located at the 13 mile mark in Chimney Cove by sea and Shawnee Bend No. 2 off of Route MM in Sunrise Beach. Everyday’s a Fiesta at El Capitan.

So lay out on the beach with the kids, hang out at one of the tiki bars, enjoy the wonderful food and entertainment, but most of all, relax, it’s what the Lake of the Ozarks is all about.
